Session cost: £400 for up to 12 people attending a 1-day course, £200 for up to 12 people attending a 2hr session. Additional travel costs may apply for courses out of the Berkshire area.
This course provides detailed information on Epilepsy Emergency Care and the administration of Rectal Diazepam and/or Buccal Midazolam. The course meets the requirements of the Joint Epilepsy Council standards (2004 & 2005). The course is ideal for use in all sectors.
Topics covered include:
Epilepsy Facts, Basic Life Support, Causes of Epilepsy, Seizure Classification, Partial Seizures, Generalised Seizures, Seizure Management, Triggers & Precipitants, Anti-Epileptic Medications (AED's), Use of Rectal Diazepam & Buccal Midazolam, Contra-Indications / Cautions, Procedure for Administration and Ethical Issues. During the course, there will be practical sessions on The Recovery Position, Resuscitation, Buccal Midazolam and/or Rectal Diazepam administration.

Epilepsy Awareness for Families (2hrs)
For many families, finding out that a relative has been diagnosed with Epilepsy can be a time of worry and concern. I have worked with many families to provide the course detailed below. The aim of this course is to provide knowledge and reassurance in coping with the condition. The course is informal and delivered in a very relaxed way.
